HHCI was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the lived experience of hip hop culture — in communities, on blocks, and in places like Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1990, where Black youth carried the culture with them wherever they went.
From those early years to the present day, the mission has always been the same: honor the culture, elevate the people, and give the next generation something real to stand on. The Future is HERE — because the foundation was always there.

The Hip Hop Culture Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the advocacy, education and empowerment of our nation's youth and young adults — through the global influence and reach of hip hop culture and music.
We build bridges between community, industry, artists, parents, and young people — because hip hop has the power to be a beacon and a light, guiding youth toward fruitfulness and productivity when those with the voice speak honestly about the path.
