About HHCI
We believe hip hop culture — at its best — is one of the most powerful forces for youth development, community healing, and social change in the world. HHCI exists to activate that power.
Our Mission
The Hip Hop Culture Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the advocacy, education and empowerment of our nation's youth and young adults — through the global influence and reach of hip hop culture and music.
We build bridges between community, industry, artists, parents, and young people — because hip hop has the power to be a beacon and a light, guiding youth toward fruitfulness and productivity when those with the voice speak honestly about the path.
"We will build our own pyramids, and write our own hieroglyphs."
— Kendrick Lamar

Core Values
We believe in the power of transformation — for individuals, communities, and culture itself.
We speak truth to the culture from inside the culture. No outsider lens. No false narratives.
Knowledge is the foundation of every HHCI program — from P.L.A.Y.E.R.S. to chapter leadership.
Chapters, coalitions, and families working together for collective uplift and accountability.
We stand for policies and narratives that protect and elevate Black and Brown youth.
We equip youth and young adults with tools to lead purposeful, productive lives.
